The 10-MW molten-salt solar tower power plant of Beijing Shouhang IHW Resources Saving Technology Co. Ltd. (hereinafter Shouhang Resources Saving) was successfully synchronized to the grid at the first try in Dunhuang at 22:58 on December 26, 2016, with all indicators reaching the designed level, becoming the world’s third and Asia’s first molten-salt tower solar thermal power plant which can achieve continuous power generation for 24 hours. Before its synchronization to grid, the plant had already successfully achieved molten-salt thermal energy storage, steam turbine running at constant speed and inverse power transmission at first try.
